San Diego Integration Institute (I2)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Background
In January of 2007, the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Services Division funded the Community Clinics Health Network (CCHN) via contract #532853 to implement the Mental Health and Primary Care Integration Services project.
Effective May 1, 2011, contract #532853 was amended to include funding to develop and implement an Integration Institute. The Integration Institute began on May 1, 2011.
Goals / Purpose
The goal of the Integration Institute (I²) is to support Behavioral Health (BH) providers, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (ADS) providers, and Primary Care (PC) providers to make progress in enhancing intra-organization integration and in achieving inter-organization, bi-directional integration of primary care, behavioral health, and ADS services.
I² will support organizations and providers to lead change at the provider, program and system levels to reduce barriers and increase integration of primary care and behavioral health services within the County of San Diego and regionally throughout the state of California.
The Integration Institute will provide change management training to administrative and clinical leadership of PC, mental health (MH), and ADS organizations that are committed to primary care/behavioral health integration; develop and disseminate a comprehensive package of emerging best practices; and create venues for the mutual support of organizations and the sharing of best practices.
